Plot
Here comes Santa Jaws. He’s fast, he’s mighty, and he wears a red Santa hat. He likes everything about Christmas. This is a snowless Christmas, but, if there was snow, he’d be crazy about it, too. Misty Talley who gave us, at this point, Mississippi River Sharks and Ozark Sharks, returns for one more slapstick shark comedy. She’s getting good at this!
It all starts with a fist fight between some guy and Santa. Santa falls in the water and we presume his DNA somehow merges with the sharks’. We don’t get confirmation on this, for a while, but there might be a supernatural element to it. The main protagonist is an emergent comic book artist. His friends are as sympathetic as he is. This story is more about them than the shark, in fact.
The score is a collection of gloomy Christmas songs. Editing-wise, this film is probably better than you’d expect. The references to Home Alone are the best thing about it, but the screenplay never really uses these clichés the way we’d like. Sadly, this film doesn’t feel like Christmas at all. How much trouble would it have been to shoot up north? Seriously...
