That fucking doll!
Marlon Wayans returns as a writer and lead actor to make fun of the genre we love so much and parodies, this time around, The Shining, Annabelle, Sinister, The Conjuring, Insidious, and so on. This isn’t an endless nor a timeless concept, and, at some point, this franchise will probably end the way Scary Movie did. Maybe they should stop while they are still relevant.
Jaime Pressly is ridiculously hot, and Wayans is ridiculously funny. In fact, all actors made me giggle. They all had their moment. Sex jokes, fart jokes, racial jokes, dead animal jokes; you know the drill. Wayans takes the gag five steps too far every time, but those who respond well to slapstick humor will have a blast. Like the first installment, this is a found footage film.
Is this one too many trips to the shitter? Are the creators reaching? So, this isn’t for everyone, but if it’s your thang, I’m currently pointing at you. Basically, in what it set out to do, this film hits all the right notes. It is hilarious and, if you’re not dead inside, you’ll laugh a bunch, except if you don’t get the horror references, of course. Just make sure you like horror.
