Lipstick on a pig!
Screenwriter and director Ron Ford is one of the best things that happened to this franchise. It took ten years to make the ten prior films, and they all sucked. Not that Witchcraft 11 will ever win an Oscar, but it’s arguably the best one so far. The staging is dynamic, the chicks are hot, and this is the goriest installment we’ve had up to this point.
Witchcraft 11 was obviously inspired by The Craft. This is your quintessential witchcraft horror film, plus the whole signature seduction angle that makes this brand what it is. If you took all the pornographic stuff out of the equation, you’d end up with a short film. Food for thought! Witchcraft 11 goes by the franchise’s rules, it breaks it down, and makes the most of it.
Ford incorporates several elements from previous films. He did his homework. He noted down what worked, in the past, and what didn’t. Did we need to involve religion in this? Also, I understand how pivotal agents Spanner and Lutz have been in this series, but they turn every movie they’re in into a procedural I’m not sure is in our best interest as viewers.
