Plot
Zombie 4 AKA After Death AKA Zombie Flesh Eaters 3 is a descent into madness for a bunch of machine gun wielding heroes as much as for us. It’s a redundant no-brainer with zombies that may or may not be the African kind of zombies. There’s a voodoo magic subplot that is quickly swept under the rug. This production has the particularity of being an adventure film as much as a horror flick.
The script is pretty much paint-by-numbers. Expect big guns, superficial romance, plenty of testosterone and laughable zombie make-up. Zombie 4 is basically a lazy Zombie 3 with witchcraft instead of science-fiction. Both films take place on an island. Both films are indirect sequels to the rest of the franchise. Both films are entertaining because they’re a total mess.
This is the most fun you’ll have being stuck on an island with Rambo wannabes and zombies covered with stucco. The creators meant well but had very limited resources. The shooting locations add production value and somewhat redeem poor dialogue, chaotic story and bad action sequences. Watch this for a good laugh then forget it and move on with your life...
