A boy’s uncle tells him three spooky stories to get him to sleep, except that the uncle is a pervert and his stories do not resonate with the kid. One story is about sadistic witches, another one is an adult version of the Red Riding Hood and the last one is a kinky interpretation of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The wraparound story makes each segment uncomfortable, yet so delightful.
The stories are shocking, sexy and gory. They contain partial nudity, full nudity, sexual innuendos, sexual metaphors and masturbation. The special effects are not that great but they are captivating nonetheless. They are not cookie-cutter visuals and they serve the story well. This is a low budget production that is far from perfection but is highly atmospheric.
This is a fun anthology film but a disposable one. It is light in tone, simple-minded, silly, nonsensical and therefore forgotten soon after the end credits rolled. It has no moral compass and doesn’t always contain twists. The first story is rather serious but the rest of the film is basically a comedy. Don’t get your hopes high and you’ll have a good time.
