All attempts at sexualizing Malcom McDowell fail. The guy was and always will be an oddball. He was in A Clockwork Orange eleven years prior and still hasn’t cleanse himself from his performance. This remake has more flesh around the bone than the two installments of the 1940s, thankfully. It is very atmospheric and contains some impressive gore. This is a movie about lycanthropy. Its biggest challenges, as such, are the transformation effects. They look good, but they’re not fully shown.
