Each movie includes a list of moods, genres, a synopsis, a review and eight ratings: stars, story, creativity, acting, quality, rewatchability, creepiness and gimmick.

The list includes horror and horror-adjacent films with a perfect star rating.

All attempts at sexualizing Malcom McDowell fail. The guy was and always will be an oddball. He was in A Clockwork Orange eleven years prior and still hasn’t cleanse himself from his performance. This remake has more flesh around the bone than the two installments of the 1940’s, thankfully. It is very atmospheric and contains some impressive gore. The transformation sequences, on the other hand…
This is a movie about lycanthropy. Its biggest challenges, as such, are the transformation effects. They look good, but they’re not fully shown. The make-up artists do a good job for inanimate objects but not so much when it comes to transitions and movement. The particularity of wereleopards, here, is that their metamorphosis is triggered by sexual arousal. That probably got your attention!
So, many people get naked, here, and the actors rarely seem comfortable with it. It’s too bad because, most of the time, they’re pretty convincing. It helps that the director is confident and competent enough. The film is adequately written but the screenplay has its flaws. The soundtrack contributes immensely to the immersion. Let it intoxicate you…
