This film is a rehash of footage from the previous three Sleepaway Camp movies. It is poorly cut, badly edited and the borrowed shots hardly match. The end result is of much inferior visual quality than all of them averaged. It is a shameless compilation of the most violent or shocking scenes disguised as a feature film. Since the villain has been played by two actresses before, confusion ensues.
In fact, the few new scenes were shot for an unfinished project; another sequel, that was not supposed to see the day following the studio's bankruptcy. It should never have. The new material is of much lesser visual quality than the previous entries and doesn't justify a sequel because it has no story to tell, let alone anything consistent with the other films.
Red herrings are thrown at us in regards to the new killer's identity, but the cast is so limited in number and screen time that the enigma goes nowhere. The last act is mostly incomprehensible new footage. The cinematography is lazy, the sound is of terrible quality, and we’re spoon-fed written narration to compensate for an obscure plot filled with holes the size of a lake.
